If you’re looking for a decadent fruit dip recipe that isn’t loaded with sugar and is dairy free, this one is it. Inspired by the fruit dip my mom made when I was a kid, this Maple Cinnamon Cashew Dip tastes like a cinnamon roll in healthier form. It’s creamy, decadent, yet light and the perfect addition to a summer fruit board if you’re feeling a little fancy.

Growing up, my mom would make this heavenly fruit dip made out of cream cheese, powdered sugar and cinnamon. If I close my eyes, I can still taste the slight tang mellowed out by the abundance of sugar in each bite. It was the perfect dip for strawberries or apple slices.

Recreating My Favorite Childhood Fruit Dip Recipe with a Simple Swap

I believe that the secret to making healthy taste amazing is all in the sauces and dips. I am no stranger to cashew cream, sweet or savory, and decided to use this popular dairy swap to recreate my favorite childhood fruit dip.

This Maple Cinnamon Cashew Dip only requires five ingredients and a blender. When you soak the cashews in water, over time they will soften, creating the most luscious and fluffy texture. Flavored with a healthy dose of cinnamon and touch of maple syrup, it’s like getting a little taste of a cinnamon roll with every bite.

Did you know that cinnamon boosts metabolism and lends a natural sweetness to foods which encourages an overall reduction in added sugar?

Keep it simple and whip up this Maple Cinnamon Cashew Dip to have on hand for an afternoon snack with apple slices, or make it a little fancier by throwing together a fruit board! It’s like the summer version of cheese boards for an easy, but gorgeous, party platter.

Instructions

  1. Rinse and drain the cashews.
  2. Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. The key to luscious cashew cream is to blend a minute longer once you think the desired texture has been reached. The heat and speed of the blade continues to break down the nuts, resulting in a silky texture.
  3. Add more water as needed.
  4. Serve with fruit of choice.
