The Number on the Scale Does not Define You

I recently ran across an article titled “5 things the scale won’t tell you” that I think should be plastered on every gym and fitness boutique wall, and every mirror in the women’s bathrooms to serve as a reminder that the scale is not the ultimate measure of health. I can’t tell you how many times as a personal trainer I heard complaints that clients were not seeing the results they wanted purely based upon the number of the scale. Here’s the thing – the scale is just one tool of many used to document a person’s weight loss journey or overall health. Yet, many of us look to the scale as the ultimate authority. Read more, here.

Have you stepped outside of your comfort zone lately?

A few weeks ago, a friend and I attended an aerial yoga class and it was so much fun! I never would’ve thought to try a class like this until my friend suggested it and so I just went with it. This class transformed an ordinary day into one that left me feeling renewed and refreshed (kind of like when you take a vacation, although that’s a bit of a stretch). It got me thinking, what if I tried new things more often that pushed me past my comfort zone into a space of unknown? How would that impact my quality of life, energy level, or overall state-of-mind? I don’t have the answer but that one class left me wanting more. Read more, here.
